Canada Summer Jobs Attestation Requirement
Many of you have reached out to me about the new attestation requirement for the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. This is why on Monday March 19, 2018 I chose to remove myself from the opposition motion vote rather than vote along party lines. Over the last few months and have been in discussion with religious groups in our riding and have worked hard to provide alternatives to CSJ to mitigate any potential loss of programs.
As the Member of Parliament for Kildonan-St. Paul, I would never support an initiative that required any individual or organization to compromise their values and beliefs. Please be assured that I have raised our concerns with the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour and to the Prime Minister, and I will continue to do so until this requirement has been removed.
The Honourable MaryAnn Mihychuk, PC., MSc.
