January 25, 2018 Today, the Honourable MaryAnn Mihychuk, Member of Parliament for Kildonan-St.Paul, launched an independent Seniors Council. Community leaders in her riding were selected to conduct a series of public town halls and to collect opinions from seniors and the public on today's senior’s issue. They will then make recommendations to improve the lives of seniors. Interest for the council exceeded expectations, with over 30 applications received to join the Council in the short 2 week timeframe, with applications coming from across the riding. The council will raise the senior’s issues to the National level by preparing a report, containing recommendations for the Prime Minister, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, the MP and the public by May 15 2018.
